In these terms we mean by:
These terms apply to all use of the Platform and to every booking you make through it. By ordering you agree to these terms. They replace all earlier agreements about the use of the Platform.
They apply both to learners and to instructors and driving schools offering lessons through the Platform.
You must be at least 16.5 years old to book. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or legal guardian.
Rijschool Matchmaker does not give driving lessons itself and is not a driving school. We find an instructor or driving school that suits you and arrange the booking, the payment and the administration. The lessons themselves are given by self-employed instructors and driving schools. You enter into the agreement about the lessons with them; we are not a party to it.
You book and pay through the Platform. Payment is made with Wero / iDEAL and is processed by Mollie.
Your payment goes into a client account and is only passed on to the instructor or driving school once the lesson has been confirmed or given. We are authorised to receive payments on behalf of the instructor or driving school.
If an instructor or driving school goes bankrupt or fails to meet their obligations, we refund whatever is still in the client account. Money already paid on cannot be refunded by us.
All prices on the Platform include VAT. A trial lesson costs €45.00. If you pay for a package in instalments, this is shown clearly at checkout, together with any additional costs.
Your booking is final as soon as the payment has succeeded. Your instructor will contact you within one working day to arrange a time.
You have a 14-day cooling-off period after booking. During that period you can cancel without giving a reason and you get the amount paid back within 14 days. You can use the model form at the bottom of this page, but an email is enough.
If, at your request, your first lesson starts within those 14 days, your right of withdrawal lapses once that lesson has been given. That then applies to the whole package. We ask for your explicit consent to this when you book.
If you want to cancel, email info@rijschoolmatchmaker.nl.
You can cancel or move a trial lesson free of charge up to 24 hours before it starts. If you cancel later or do not turn up, the amount paid is forfeited.
If you are not happy with your trial lesson, let us know within 7 days. We will look for another solution together with you, for example a lesson with a different instructor.
If you want to end a package after the cooling-off period, these rules apply:
Your credit is valid for up to 6 months after your last payment. You can pause that period once, for a maximum of 6 months. After a pause your first lesson must take place within 2 months, otherwise your credit expires.
If you cancel a lesson within 24 hours of its start, or do not turn up, that lesson is deducted from your credit.
You provide correct details and are ready on time at the agreed pick-up address. During the lesson you are not under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication that affects your ability to drive. If you are, the instructor may refuse the lesson and it is deducted from your credit.
If you have a complaint about an instructor, a driving school or about us, email info@rijschoolmatchmaker.nl. We mediate between you and the instructor or driving school and reply within 5 working days. We aim for a solution within 14 working days.
A complaint does not suspend your payment obligation, unless we agree otherwise with you in writing. If we cannot resolve it together, you can turn to a recognised disputes committee or the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM).
During the lesson you are insured through the instructor’s learner car. Rijschool Matchmaker is not liable for damage arising from the delivery or quality of the lessons by instructors or driving schools.
If we are nonetheless liable, that applies only to direct damage and is limited to the amount you paid through the Platform for the service in question. We are not liable for indirect damage, such as lost income. These limitations do not apply in the event of intent or gross negligence on our part.
If you breach these terms, or use the Platform in a way that causes damage to others, you are responsible for that. If anyone holds us liable for it, you will compensate us for the damage and costs we incur as a result.
We handle your data carefully and comply with the GDPR. We use your data only to arrange your booking and to contact you, and share it only with the instructor or driving school giving your lessons and with Mollie for the payment. Parties processing data on our behalf may only do so with appropriate security, including where that happens outside the EU. You can read more in our privacy statement.
Discount codes are valid only for the purpose and the period stated with them. They cannot be exchanged for money. We may change or withdraw a code without notice. In the event of misuse we may refuse a booking or exclude you from promotions.
You may use the Platform to book lessons for yourself. You may not copy, modify, automatically harvest (scrape), publish or commercially exploit the Platform or its content without our written permission.
On the Platform we use services from other parties, such as Mollie for payments and an address service for filling in your address. We are not responsible for the availability, operation or privacy rules of those services.
If we or the instructor cannot meet an obligation because of circumstances beyond our control, such as extreme weather, illness, outages at other parties, strikes or government measures, we will schedule a new lesson. If that is not possible, you get the amount paid for that lesson back.
We may amend these terms. The new version applies from the moment it is published on the Platform. We will inform you by email of major changes. A booking is always governed by the terms in force at the moment you booked.
These terms are governed by Dutch law. We try to resolve disputes together first.
If you are a consumer, a dispute goes to the competent court in your place of residence. For business users, such as instructors and driving schools, we first try to resolve a dispute through an independent mediator. If that fails, the competent court in Utrecht decides.
Only fill in this form if you want to cancel your booking within the cooling-off period, and send it to info@rijschoolmatchmaker.nl.
